Before joining GOGLA, Koen was for three years a renewable energy expert within the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, managing contracts of program implementers such as IFC, FMO, and the Global Alliance for Clean Cooking. Prior to that, he worked for ten years as consultant supporting international business initiatives in developing countries. Koen has a Master degree in Environmental Engineering from Wageningen University and a Master in Business Administration jointly from Nyenrode University and Kellogg School of Management. During her time with Sustainable Investments, Susanne worked for several climate-related fund mandates with a focus on renewable energy and energy efficiency project finance transactions in emerging economies as well as the European Union.
Most recently she worked on Deutsche Bank’s successful accreditation with the Green Climate Fund as well as the preparation of a first funding proposal for the off-grid energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. Susanne joined Deutsche Bank in 2006 working in Deutsche Bank’s renewable energy practice that engaged in early stage project developments in the European renewable markets. During this time Susanne gained a strong track record in equity and debt finance with a focus on solar and wind transactions in Germany, Italy, France and Poland. She holds a Diploma in Latin American Regional Studies from University of Cologne.
Eugene has previously worked as a private consultant offering financial advisory services to clients in the infrastructure and real estate sectors in east Africa. He also has experience working at Shell in several roles across Africa, with finance, credit and retail operations. Eugene has international experience working in Germany for Allianz Capital Partners as a Portfolio Management Associate. He holds an MBA in Global Energy from the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, UK. Daniel earned a Masters Degree in Renewable Energy Management from the University of St. Prior to EOGS, Daniel worked as Senior Analyst at E. Prior to founding Energicity, Nicole Poindexter was Senior Director Global Business Development leading Opower’s partner relationships with the electricity generation and smart grid industries.
Poindexter negotiated global partnerships and developed joint product offerings with leading systems integrators, utility operations software providers, thermostat manufacturers, and residential and commercial energy efficiency companies. She received her BA from Yale University in Political Science and a Masters in Business Administration with Distinction from Harvard University. Company and built windfarms in the USA. Jeremy holds an MBA from INSEAD and an Engineering Degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada. As founder of Borena Energy, her company develops Solar PV projects and solutions on a turnkey basis and operates mostly in rural, remote and off-grid communities. The project seeks to achieve economic inclusion through a finance instrument for rural women to participate in the ownership of solar minigrids in their communities. S he is an alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship and was part of the 2016 Cohort.
